Sugar Plum Clafoutis
A yummy French plum dessert recipe for late summer :)
You’ll need:
butter for greasing the pie pan
(optional) granulated sugar for dusting the dish
1 and a quarter cups milk
4 large eggs
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3-4 plums ripe but firm, pitted and sliced
Steps:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Butter a 9-inch pie pan
Add the milk, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, salt and flour to a bowl and whisk well, until very smooth with no lumps
Arrange the plum slices in the bottom of the buttered pie pan, then pour batter over top
Bake until puffed and lightly golden, about 30 - 40 mins, then let cool for 30 mins to an hour before serving
Serve warm, at room temperature or cold too :)
